How to get a shiny Slowpoke and Galarian Slowpoke and make the most of your community’s day

If you’re looking for a powerful Slowpoke to Mega Evolve, don’t worry. Mega Slowbro isn’t great and is outclassed in Raids by tons of Water and Psych type Pokemon.
Silph Road subreddit analyst Trummler12 notes that the gains the Slow family will see in Surf PvP are slim. They don’t do a good job in PvP and will probably stay that way.
How can I get the most out of Slowpoke Community Day?
The following rewards will be active during Slowpoke Community Day:
- The experience points for catching a Pokémon are tripled
- Double the candy to catch Pokemon
- Double chance for Trainers at level 31+ to get XL Candy from catching Pokemon
- Incense lasts three hours
- Lure units last three hours
- Slow down the photos of the light grenades when taking shots
- One additional special trade
- Stardust cost of trading halved
However, you should definitely pop the Lucky Egg and Incense and try to catch some powerful Slowpoke.
If you can Mega evolve Alakazam, Slowbro, Gardevoir, Medicham, Latios or Latias, you will get an additional Slowpoke candy for each catch. If you’re Mega Evolve a Water-type Pokemon, you’ll get the bonus to catching Candy for Slowpoke, but not Galarian Slowpoke, so we recommend using a Psychic type.
In addition to all this, Niantic still runs special four-star raids from 5-10pm, where if you clear a Slowpoke raid, it will appear in a 300-meter radius around the gym for 30 minutes. These raids cannot be done remotely. If your usual 2-5pm spawn boost doesn’t give you the Slowpoke you want, you can try raiding for another chance.
